abandoned hotel in Bogota, ColombiaThis is not exactly in Bogotá, but near. The place is called Salto del Tequendama. The Hotel is called Hotel del Salto. It opened in 1928 and was abandoned in the 40’s or 50’s due to the contamination of the water in the fall and the really bad smell. Is a very beautiful construction with English/german influence.
It has a lot of ghosts. People used to go to there and jump in to the fall.
The fall will be at the back of the person taking this picture.
The fall (El salto) is related to a Myth from the Chibcha/Muisca people (natives from the place). The Myth says that the fall was created to drain the valley where Bogotá is constructed.
The valley (Bacata) was flooded by Chibchacum (The Earth) because the Bacata people people took bad advice from Huitaca (The Moon) and didn’t pay the tribute to Chibchacum. Bochica (The savior) hearing the suffering from the Bacata people taught them again the good ways and walk with them trough the mountains until they found the rock wall that kept the water in the Valley. Then Bochica punched the wall with his golden cane and The Salto (the Fall) was created draining the water from the Bacata valley.
hey anyone, find this and lets go.
