Horror Movie Challenge Day 31 - Trick r Treat
Decided to go with something appropriate for the last day of the Halloween Horror movie challenge - Trick r Treat
Trick r Treat is quickly becoming one of my favorite Halloween movies. I’m a big fan of anthology style horror movies (Creepshow, Twilight Zone the movie, etc..), and the way they manage to weave the stories into one world and connect them is pretty awesome. It’s up on...

The 6 Creepiest Places on Earth - Part 1
It doesn’t matter whether or not you believe in ghosts, there are some places in which none of us would want to spend a night. These places have well earned their reputations as being so creepy, tragic or mysterious (or all three) that they definitely qualify as “haunted.”
Places like…

The Aforementioned
Day 1: I’ve called myself paranoid for quite some time because of the little things that put me on edge. I can’t stay in the dark. Even when my eyes focus I can feel the gaze of some night dweller following me as I tiptoe to stay unheard and scan with my pathetic, nearsighted eyes. I can feel something, something hidden in the dark that must be there since I can’t see it. I can’t stand the...

Horror Movie Challenge Day 30 - Rosemary's Baby &...
I watched two movies today, and couldn’t pick which one to be day 30 of my Halloween Horror Movie Challenge so today there will be 2 movies!
Rosemary’s baby is a wonderful classic horror film by Roman Polanski. This movie is not only beautiful, but it has this great paranoid atmosphere that strings you along until the end. If you are into classic horror and haven’t seen...

Horror Movie Challenge Day 29 - An American...
American Werewolf in London is one of the best (if not THE best) werewolf movies out there. It has comedy, horror, gore, nazis monsters, and one of the most amazing transformation scenes in cinema history. John Landis really knew what he was doing when he made this movie, and it shows. It’s up on netflix instant watch right now to anyone who wants to watch it.

The 7 Most Questionable 'Haunted' Items on eBay
So, it turns out that eBay is full of “haunted” (or cursed, or possessed) items people are trying to get rid of. These fall into two categories: items being sold by the mentally ill or extremely superstitious (whom we just feel sorry for), and worthless junk being sold by hucksters hoping someone is stupid enough to buy them if they claim it’s magic.
These items are the...

The Licked Hand
A beautiful young girl is left home alone with only her dog to protect her. On the news that night, they announced there is a serial killer on the loose in the area. Before she goes to bed, she locks all the doors and tries to lock all the windows, but the one in the basement won’t lock. She decides to leave it unlocked, but locks the basement door and goes to bed. Her dog takes its customary...

Horror Movie Challenge Day 28 - Jacob's Ladder
This movie is like a bad acid trip that won’t end. It’s really an amazing movie that seems to string you along and toss you into hell at it’s whim. If you like silent hill then you will probably really like Jacob’s Ladder.

The 8 Creepiest Glitches Hidden in Popular Video...
We’ve told you about the creepiest video game Easter eggs ever found. But Easter eggs are hidden details that someone intentionally put there to mess with you — their horror is still limited by the human imagination. No, the most terrifying game moments are when lines of code go awry to make characters start looking, and behaving, like monsters.
Lines of code, or maybe demonic...

Listen Closely
You know that ringing sound you will perceive when you are in a very quiet area? Some people say this is an auditory illusion brought about by the ear’s inability to detect frequencies below the threshold of the human senses. This is completely wrong. That ringing covers up something else altogether. If you are quick, patient, and maybe a little lucky, you will be able to hear past the...

Horror Movie Challenge Day 27 - Megan is Missing
This movie is just disturbing.. it made me feel like a bad person for watching it. The last 22 minutes are just completely wrong and messed up. The movie was done pretty well, it’s sort of a mockumentary style with webcam footage, cell phone video, and local new reports piecing the story together. I think I need a hot shower after this movie.. geez

Come Closer
I’d actually seen him on our way home from school. He looked dirty and disturbed, and stared straight at us as our bus went by. We even made jokes about him, probably as our way of pretending we weren’t afraid. He was incredibly out of place in our middle class suburb, so his mere presence felt threatening… thus our panic when the three of us got off at our stop and saw him at the corner,...

Horror Movie Challenge Day 26 - The Mist
The Mist’s concept both intrigues me, and frightens me - to think if we could actually rip a hole into an alternate universe, and unleash terrible Lovecraftian creatures into our world.. it’s just horrifying. Some people really don’t care for this movie (mostly because of the ending which I will not reveal here because of spoilers and such), but I really enjoyed it. It focuses...

Quiet Room
I’ve always loved the movies. As a film fan, my attention would instantly snap to the TV when I caught a commercial for an upcoming movie. Most of the mindless, overproduced garbage Hollywood churns out is pretty forgettable, so whenever I discovered an indie film with a relatively fresh concept, I was excited to see something different.
Recently, I caught a commercial for an upcoming...

Horror Movie Challenge Day 25 - Noroi: The Curse
Not only is Noroi my favorite found footage horror movie, it is probably my favorite foreign horror movie as well. A sense of dread hangs over this entire movie, making you climb deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole with the main character. It’s just an overall satisfying horror movie with a creepy atmosphere, and a sense of mystery/conspiracy. Go watch it for yourself to see what I...

Gateway of the Mind
In 1983, a team of deeply pious scientists conducted a radical experiment in an undisclosed facility. The scientists had theorized that a human without access to any senses or ways to perceive stimuli would be able to perceive the presence of God. They believed that the five senses clouded our awareness of eternity, and without them, a human could actually establish contact with God by...

Horror Movie Challenge Day 24 - Halloween (1978)
Halloween started the slasher trend that ran rampant in the 1980’s, and really brought about a new type of horror. In the script for Halloween Michael Meyers is never referred by name, but is simply known as “The Shape” - Which to me is really fitting of Michael who seems like an emotionless void.. not even human really. I’m sure most of you have seen this Halloween gem,...

Don't Ignore Me
This is not a random post. This is not a coincidence. I put this here because I know that right now you will be reading it. No one can see this post except for you. There is a monster in your home. It is there right now and it is waiting to kill you. It will kill you tonight. I can save you. Go to a mirror. That in there, that’s me. Turn off all the lights except for the dimmest one; too much...

Horror Movie Challenge Day 23 - The Descent
This movie is great, but incredibly uncomfortable to watch (especially if you are claustrophobic). Being trapped is a fear most people can relate to, and they execute that feeling of entrapment perfectly in this movie. This movie will have you on the edge of your seat at one moment, and cringing in the next. Definitely worth a watch in my opinion.

Horror Movie Challenge Day 22 - Dog Soldiers
There’s nothing I love more than a good werewolf movie, and Dog Soldiers is definitely a good werewolf movie. The camera movement is a bit fast/hectic sometimes, but the actual werewolves in the movie look insane. If you are a werewolf fan definitely give this movie a try.

Growths
I’d had them ever since I was a kid. I can remember being incredibly self-conscious about them, hiding them in my pockets under books and bags. The kids at school never said anything to my face, but I knew they were laughing behind my back. I remember asking my parents to take me to the doctor, to get them checked out. The growths on my hands seemed to be the elephant in the room back then,...

Horror Movie Challenge Day 21: The Wicker Man...
This movie is a slow burn. It’s horror factor isn’t based on the supernatural, but on people who all seem to plot together to entrap a man through mystery and trickery. It takes paganism and gives it a dark twist. You won’t be jumping out of your seat with this one, but you’ll find yourself feeling uneasy (all while sweet folk music is playing in the background). To me...

Waiting for the Scream
What do you think of when you imagine being cursed? The random elements of life conspiring against you? A horrible disease no one can treat? Everything you touch dying? The curse I’ve been burdened with may sound like nothing compared to those, but it destroyed my life just as thoroughly.
I had a normal life before this started - decent job, recently married, a nice house. It was a...
